Most Mandarin speakers who need to be understood in Arabic are not in a classroom. They are traders sorting out a container of goods bound for Dubai or Alexandria, engineers and project staff living in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt or Algeria, tourists asking for directions in Dubai or Cairo, and students settling into a new city. In each case the moment is practical and short: a price, a delivery date, a pickup point, a form. Mingle takes your spoken Mandarin and turns it into Arabic captions with optional read-aloud, in a browser, so you can keep speaking naturally instead of building sentences from a phrasebook.

Ideal para conversaciones reales
A session translates one direction only, from Chinese to Arabic. While it runs, only your Mandarin is translated; the other person's reply is not. When they answer, open the session menu, choose swap, and the current session ends, the captions clear and a new Arabic-to-Chinese session is ready. Tap the mic once more and their Arabic appears as Chinese captions. A single phone placed between the two of you is enough. If you are signed in you can also share the session so colleagues join from their own phones, which suits a meeting room better than passing one handset around.
The Dragon Mart stall in Dubai
A trader from Yiwu quotes unit prices, carton counts and lead times in Mandarin while a buyer from Cairo or Jeddah reads Arabic captions and listens to the read-aloud. When the buyer asks about payment terms in Arabic, the trader swaps to an Arabic-to-Chinese session, reads the question in Chinese captions, and answers on the next turn.
The site meeting outside Riyadh
A Chinese project engineer explains a delayed shipment and the revised installation schedule in Mandarin. The local foreman and the site clerk read the Arabic captions on one phone laid on the table, so nobody has to wait for the one bilingual colleague to come back from another site.
The first week in Cairo
A student who has only studied textbook Arabic needs to ask a landlord about the deposit, the electricity bill and the building rules. She speaks Mandarin, the landlord reads the Arabic captions or hears them read aloud, and she keeps the screen as a written record of the amounts they agreed.

Arabic is written and read from right to left, and Mingle lays its captions out that way. Numbers inside Arabic text still read left to right, which can look odd at first. Arabic text also uses two sets of digits: the Western 0 to 9 you know, and the Eastern Arabic-Indic forms such as ٣ and ٥. Which one you meet varies by country, by document and by the person typing, so treat the figures on screen as something to confirm aloud, particularly for money, quantities and dates. Counting also differs: Chinese groups by 万, while Arabic names thousands, millions and billions, so a quoted amount is worth saying in full.
Spoken Arabic is not one voice. Gulf, Egyptian, Levantine and Maghrebi speech differ in vocabulary, pronunciation and everyday phrases, and the dialect your listener grew up with is not always the one in a textbook. Written Arabic is the shared layer, and Mingle's captions and read-aloud use that common form, with no dialect setting to switch. In practice the other person will understand you, though they may answer in their own local speech, and then the swapped session is where you check what was really said.
Some points to keep in mind when scheduling and introducing yourself. Arabic marks gender and number on many words, including the word for you, while a spoken Mandarin 你 does not, so the Arabic wording may assume a gender you did not intend; watch the captions when the choice matters. The working week also differs: Friday is the main prayer day and weekends vary from country to country and from sector to sector, so confirm days and times before travelling. Prayer times and, during Ramadan, shifted working hours can move a meeting you thought was fixed. Names are another trap: a Chinese name can be written in Arabic letters in more than one way, so keep your passport spelling in Latin letters handy.
Esta página trata específicamente de Chino → Árabe
You need an internet connection; there is no offline mode. That matters at some sites and in some basements and warehouses, so check your signal before an important meeting. The page is built around what Chinese speakers actually find hard in Arabic: sentence structure that runs the other way, a script with its own direction, and sounds with no Mandarin equivalent.
Preguntas frecuentes
Preguntas frecuentes
Todo lo que necesitas saber sobre la traducción de Chino a Árabe.
Will my Arabic listener see right-to-left captions?
Yes. The captions for your Mandarin are shown in Arabic script, laid out right to left, so the person across the table reads them the natural way. Your own screen shows the same session, which is useful when you want to point at a price or a date together.
Which Arabic does the other person hear, Gulf, Egyptian or Maghrebi?
Spoken Arabic differs a great deal from one country to the next, but written Arabic is shared, and the captions and read-aloud use that common form. Mingle has no dialect setting for its Arabic output. Expect a clear, general Arabic that people in Dubai, Cairo and Algiers can all follow, rather than the way a local would phrase it in the street.
Will numbers appear as 123 or as ١٢٣?
Arabic text can use either Western digits (123) or Eastern Arabic-Indic digits (١٢٣), and which one people expect depends on the country and the document. Whatever appears, read the figure on the screen together before you agree to a price, a quantity or a date. Say large amounts in full, for example 30,000 rather than a single word like 三万, and confirm the currency out loud.
How do I make sure my name is written correctly in Arabic?
A Chinese name has no single Arabic spelling; the sounds are fitted to Arabic letters in several ways, and Arabic has no letters for some Mandarin sounds. If your name matters for a contract, hotel booking or visa form, show the other person your passport spelling in Latin letters and compare it with what appears in the captions.
Do I have to install anything, and is it free to try?
Nothing to install: open mingle.fit in your phone or laptop browser, allow the microphone and start. A guest can begin without an account or a card. Signing in adds saved history and longer usage on a paid plan, and each direction of a conversation is kept as its own history entry.
