Lectura en voz alta

Anyone running a business, a clinic desk or a hotel counter in the Gulf has probably had the same conversation: you explain something carefully in Arabic, the person nods, and ten minutes later you find out nothing landed. Many of the people on the other side of the counter are from India, and a large number of them read and speak Hindi. Mingle listens to your Arabic and shows it as Hindi captions, with an optional spoken version, so the instruction, the price or the address arrives in a language the listener actually follows.

Ideal para conversaciones reales

It works in the browser on any phone or computer, with nothing to install. Put one phone between you and the other person, or share the session from a signed-in account so they join from their own phone. A session translates in one direction. To hear the answer, use the swap in the session menu: it ends the session, clears the captions and starts a new session from Hindi to Arabic, and you tap the mic again. Guests start without an account or card.

  • The grocery owner and the new hire

A shop owner in Sharjah explains opening hours, the stock room and how to handle credit customers in Arabic. His new employee from Uttar Pradesh reads the Hindi captions on the counter phone and hears them from the speaker. When the employee has a question about a delivery, the owner swaps the languages and taps the mic again to read the Hindi question in Arabic.

  • The clinic reception desk

A receptionist in Riyadh tells a visitor from Hyderabad which documents to bring, which doctor's room is next, and what the fee covers. The patient sees the Hindi on one phone laid flat on the desk. Names and appointment times stay on screen, so nobody has to rely on a half-heard number.

  • The dispatcher and the driver

A dispatcher in Abu Dhabi reads out a pickup address and a time window in Arabic. The driver, who has been in the country a few months, follows the Devanagari captions at the kerb and checks the street name before pulling away. A reply from the driver takes one swap and a tap on the mic.

The jump between these two languages is bigger than it looks. Hindi is written in Devanagari, from left to right, so your Arabic speech turns into captions that run the opposite way on the screen. Hindi has no dual and no definite article, but it does have grammatical gender, postpositions that follow the noun, and verbs that change with the gender of the speaker. Arabic often does not reveal the speaker's gender in a first-person past tense, so check the verb endings in the caption when it matters. Hindi also has three levels of address: आप is respectful, तुम is familiar, and तू is very intimate or can sound rude. There is no formality setting in Mingle, so read the caption yourself, especially when you speak to someone older than you.

Some everyday words will look familiar to you, because Hindi borrowed many words through Persian and Urdu, such as किताब, मदद, जवाब and हिसाब. Treat that with care: meanings drift. तारीफ़ in Hindi means praise, not a definition, and मतलब means meaning, not a request. Numbers deserve their own check. Hindi speakers often write Western digits for prices and phone numbers but say large amounts in lakh (100,000) and crore (10 million), and the words for 11 to 99 are individual words rather than a rule-built pattern. Arabic has no /p/ sound, so names beginning with a P can be misheard on the way in.

Last, be honest about whom you are talking to. If the worker is from Kerala and answers in Malayalam, or from Tamil Nadu and answers in Tamil, Hindi captions may help less than you hope. Choose the language the person speaks at home, and use the captions to catch misunderstandings early, particularly for names, addresses, amounts and times.

Esta página trata específicamente de Árabe → Hindi

This guide is written for the Arabic speaker: the employer, shopkeeper, receptionist, dispatcher or family member who needs to be understood. Think of the grocer in Sharjah, the hospital desk in Riyadh, the logistics office in Abu Dhabi, or the trader in Dubai who buys textiles and spices from suppliers in Mumbai and Delhi. For all of them, the point is not a perfect literary rendering but a sentence the listener can read, check and act on.

Preguntas frecuentes

Preguntas frecuentes

Todo lo que necesitas saber sobre la traducción de Árabe a Hindi.

Is Hindi the right language for my Indian employees and customers?

Only if they speak it. India has many major languages, and a large share of the Indian community in the Gulf speaks Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali or Urdu at home instead. Hindi suits people from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra's cities, and many others use it as a second language. Ask the person which language they are most comfortable in before you pick the pair.

Do the captions switch from right-to-left to left-to-right?

Yes. You speak Arabic, but what appears in the caption pane is Hindi, written in Devanagari and running left to right. When you swap the languages to read their reply, the captions return to Arabic and run right to left.

How do I follow what the other person says back to me?

A session runs one way, from Arabic to Hindi. Open the session menu, use the swap, and tap the mic again: the session ends, the captions clear, and a new session runs from Hindi to Arabic. Signed-in users get each direction as a separate history entry; a guest uses a free session for every swap.

Is Hindi in Mingle the same as Urdu?

No. Spoken Hindi and spoken Urdu overlap heavily in everyday vocabulary, but Hindi is written in Devanagari and Urdu in a script related to Arabic. If the person you are speaking to reads Urdu script, choose the Arabic to Urdu pair instead; if they read Devanagari, choose this one.

Can I try Arabic to Hindi without an account?

Yes. Open mingle.fit in your phone's browser, allow the microphone, and start speaking as a guest, with no card and nothing to install. An internet connection is required. Signing in adds saved history and longer usage on paid plans.

¿Ambas personas necesitan la app?

No. Todo funciona en el navegador. Para conversar en ambas direcciones, toca «Compartir la conversación» y muestra el código QR: la otra persona se une desde su propio teléfono en su idioma, sin app y sin cuenta. En un solo teléfono compartido, cada sesión de traducción va en una dirección, y cuando la otra persona responde intercambias los idiomas desde el menú de la conversación.

¿Puedo probar Mingle gratis con este par de idiomas?
