Across Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman, Filipino staff work as nurses, engineers, hotel and restaurant teams and in private homes. For many Arabic-speaking employers, managers and families, the daily friction is not a lack of goodwill but a shortage of shared words: the schedule explained in the morning, a medication room rule, the dish that changed on the menu. Mingle turns your spoken Arabic into Tagalog captions on the screen and, if you wish, a spoken voice, so the instruction is received in the language the listener thinks in.

Ideal para conversaciones reales
You speak, the Tagalog appears and plays aloud, and one phone placed between two people is enough. A session runs in one direction only, Arabic to Tagalog. When the other person wants to answer, open the session menu and swap: the current session ends, the captions clear, and a new Tagalog to Arabic session starts once you tap the mic again. It is a slightly deliberate rhythm, and it suits briefings, onboarding and household routines better than it suits a fast overlapping argument. If you are signed in you can also share the session so staff join from their own phones.
The new housekeeper's first morning
A family in Kuwait City explains the school-run times, the weekly shopping routine and a child's food allergy, speaking Arabic at normal speed. The new housekeeper reads Tagalog captions and hears them aloud. When she has questions about the washing machine or the shopping list, the family swaps the languages, taps the mic again, and her Tagalog arrives as Arabic captions instead of a guessing game.
The ward shift handover
A nursing supervisor in a Riyadh hospital walks a newly arrived team through the duty roster and the rules for the medication room. The nurses follow in Tagalog captions on a phone propped against the station counter. Questions come back after a swap, one direction per session, so each answer is read in Arabic before the supervisor replies.
The restaurant opening briefing
Before service in a Dubai hotel restaurant, the manager announces the table plan, the dishes that changed and the allergens to flag, in Arabic. The floor staff hear and read it in Tagalog, with the numbers of tables and covers on screen where nobody can mishear them.

Tagalog is written in the Latin alphabet and read left to right, so a Tagalog caption beside Arabic speech means two scripts and two directions on one table, with no extra effort needed from either person. The grammar sits far from Arabic. Instead of verb roots and patterns, Tagalog changes verbs with affixes that signal which part of the sentence is in focus, and word order often puts the verb first. It has no grammatical gender: the single pronoun siya covers both "he" and "she", so an Arabic هو or هي can arrive as the same word. When it matters who is meant, say the name. Another contrast: Tagalog separates "we, including you" (tayo) from "we, not including you" (kami), which Arabic does not mark, so after an instruction like "we start at six" check the caption if it is unclear who is included.
Respect works through small particles rather than titles. Po and opo are added when speaking to elders, supervisors or customers, and a reply to your manager's question will often begin with opo, which on its own means a polite yes, not necessarily full agreement. Look at the captions and ask a short follow-up when the answer matters. Everyday Tagalog also carries many Spanish and English loanwords, and numbers, prices and times are often said with Spanish-derived words or in English, so write key figures down, or read them off the screen, before anyone nods. Many Filipino workers in the Gulf speak English as well and some pick up Arabic words on the job; the captions are there for the moments when none of those is enough, and reading a sentence helps a listener who catches only part of it by ear.

Nothing has to be installed. Mingle runs in the browser, guests can start without an account or a card, and it needs an internet connection throughout. This guide is for the direction Arabic speakers most often need in a Gulf workplace or home: you are the one giving instructions and being understood, in Tagalog, by someone who may have arrived only weeks ago.
Preguntas frecuentes
Preguntas frecuentes
Todo lo que necesitas saber sobre la traducción de Árabe a Tagalo.
Is Tagalog the same thing as Filipino?
Close, but not identical. Filipino is the national language of the Philippines and is built mainly on Tagalog, so what people speak in Manila and what a Tagalog translation produces are very near each other. Other Philippine languages such as Cebuano and Ilocano are separate languages, and this pair translates into Tagalog only. If the person in front of you grew up speaking one of those, ask which language they find easiest.
Can the person I am talking to read the captions without knowing Arabic?
Yes. In an Arabic to Tagalog session the captions they follow are in Tagalog, written in the Latin alphabet and running left to right. Your own Arabic keeps its right-to-left layout, so each of you reads in your natural direction on the same phone.
Can I use it to explain a work contract?
Use it to talk through the terms: pay day, rest days, notice, what the job includes. Mingle translates speech in a conversation and is not a certified translation, so the signed contract itself should still come from a qualified translator. Read any figures back on screen before anyone agrees.
How do I hear the other person's answer in Arabic?
Open the session menu and use the swap. That ends the current session, clears the captions and starts a new one running Tagalog to Arabic, so tap the mic again and ask them to speak. Signed-in users get each direction as its own history entry; a guest uses a free session for every swap.
Do I need an account or an app to try Arabic to Tagalog?
No app is needed: open mingle.fit in a phone or computer browser and allow the microphone. Guests can start without an account or a card, and signing in adds saved history and longer usage on paid plans. An internet connection is required, since there is no offline mode.
